Heroes show up our lives when you least expect it.

Yesterday at 3 a.m. I became aware that we had a serious electrical problem at my house which shut down my air conditioning and other major appliances (but not our electrical outlets). So I spent the whole day on this.

First I called the air conditioning company, which came about 4 hours later. They came out and at first told me we probably needed NES (the electric provider here in Nashville). However, before charging me $185 for the house call, the air conditioning guy found a reset button on my electric meter which appeared for a while to have it fixed.

But then, at 4 pm, it happened again; we lost partial power and all power to our major appliances. So then I got an NES guy out here and he opened up our electric meter, whistled, and said our system was damaged, unsafe, and that he had to cut off ALL power to the whole house. So now it was 6 pm, and it looked like we'd have to move the family into a hotel -- not a good plan on a weekday in a heat wave when you have a big dog and a refrigerator full of food.

In desperation, I started calling small business electricians, and I got this guy named Tim (about 35) who runs a company called Mr. Watt Electricity. Tim shows up at about 6:45, looked it over, went to Home Depot, came back, rebuilt the inside of my meter, and at 9 p.m. we got NES back out here, and they restored power to my house.

So Tim, the guy who owns and operates a business called "Mr. Watt Electricity," saved me at a time when I'm between TN History for Kids in-services and a time when there is a heat wave. Way to go, Tim, for being a hero!

Tim is by far one the best I have ever hired. I contacted Tim to do all the electrical work on my master closet and bathroom remodel. He ran the additional wires from the panel, installed all new indoor and outdoor outlets, installed new lighting fixtures, and ceiling lights including a shower fan.

He is extremely responsive, easy to work with, and provides a fair price. All the electrical work done is top quality. As a remodel can sometimes happen in various stages, he was even able to work with me and return a month later to install the finishing electrical touches.

I highly recommend Tim to anyone needing electrical work done, large or small. I will be recommending him to all family and friends.

He assessed the job and gave me a quote before beginning the work. Several items needed additional parts and he picked them up and came back the same day to complete everything.
